Thanks Brent, RK & our Tommy:-) Yes Brent the Adobe gamma puts itself into the control panel in Windoze so I will give it a go. The squinting makes it sound like I would be better doing it after six beers a:-)

As I see it, the challenge with "many" is to show "many" without letting them be boring. One way is to have "many" variations - as minimalist composers do. This works in that sense because of the perspective and the varying reflections in the otherwise repetitive windows. Of course another way would be to have "many" exact repetitions.. as exact as possible, which in iteslf is a challenge of another sort. -tv

Yes, I think this looks better too. -RK

I think this looks better Rod. The crop and I am also able to see some detail in the shadows with still decent contrast, I don't think I could at all before.
Have you done the Adobe Gamma calibration on your monitor? I think you would do better with that than to use posted settings from another user with the same monitor- every panel is unique. If you do the Adobe Gamma just remember to take off any eye glasses and squint your eyes till their almost closed as you look at the different setting screens (this will make sense as you go through it). Sometimes the gamma program gets buried in your system- google how to find it if you have problems.

Thanks Brent & RK:-) I left the right post in so the others wouldn't look out of place but you might be right about starting off with the window, I will crop & see. No my monitor isn't very well calibrated as I couldn't afford to buy the calibration tools. I Googled the settings for this monitor & tried some settings others had done with their calibration tools & one looked quite good so the monitor is set on that. I tried a print & it was reasonably OK so I hope I'm in the ballpark with it.

Nicely done. I like the perspective. Penny Street

Yes, its dark and contrasty on my monitor too, and I like it. I am not sure about the pillar/post on the right edge, losing it would make the white window frame a nice lead-in to the picture.

Ah, I like this best of your first three (of many I'm sure) images Rod. Have you calibrated your monitor recently? It seems your images are a little on the dark and contrasty side lately- from my perspective anyway.
