Great idea YB and well done but I also like the one in Exhibition better as the emphasis seems to be more on the coin rather than the hand..... and it doesn't look cloned! Did you try this at a slower shutter to see how it looked with a bit of motion blur to the coin? That might be a fun image too! :-) CJ

I like this concept a lot and you have done very well with a difficult subject. I think I like the one in Exhibition better because the coin can be seen better. However, they are both just fine! ~Sharon

Raining again today, so stuck at home, nothing to do but toss coins - I have posted an alternative version in Exhibition. I can not make up my mind which I prefer - the other one looks as if the coin has been cloned into the image (which is not the case).

This looks like the thumb exudes some force keeping the coin suspended in air. So we'll never know the outcome. -tv

The example I was looking for won't work here, so no thread in the main page. Regardless, you can make everything dark except the coin. That would look awesome, I would guess.

Good point you raised there, YB. What you could try (if you elect to) is meter the penny in the same light (hope the G9 has spot metering) then expose for it. What will happen is the hand will be muted in terms of exposure and the coin and attention will be on the penny.

Can't paste a link here. Please see the main thread for what I'm talking about.

Well done YB but I think you should have tossed two coins, one showing heads & the other tails. That should keep you busy for a while:-)

Hi Penny & Aam
The problem I had was setting up the lighting. If I set the exposure to show to full advantage my beautiful delicate white hand, the coin was under exposed.
I am going to try getting an improved shot.

Good timing! How many takes did you take, YB.

this must have been fun to take - and it's a great opposite.
