(Gregory Gallant b. 1962 [a very good year to be born] Ontario)
Fast becoming a personal favorite, and not just because like me, he was born in 1962, or because, like me, he has a fascination for collecting volumes of cartoons, especially New Yorker cartoons, or because, as a kid, like me, he slept in boxes, or because we share a love for Whitney Darrow Jr.'s illustrations in The Office Party, or because, like me, he is a habitual list keeper, or because, like me, Andy Capp was one of the earliest strips to which he was introduced, or because, like me, he has a special place in his heart for Helen Hokinson, or because, like me, he has a visual fascination for industrial areas, or because, like me, he's well-spent an inordinate amount of time prowling used book stores, thrift shops, book fairs, and the like hunting for more stuff.
And what a nice fellow, too.

A model Seth purportedly uses to assist him in drawing cityscapes.
I love the model of the city. I've been a fan of Seth's for a long time and didn't know he used that for reference, very interesting.

I am a huge Seth fan - not only is he a talented cartoonist, but he's also, in my opinion, an amazing writer. He's a master of composition, his drawing abilities are right at the top. It's hard for me to not look at the Ontario (where I live) towns and landscape through "Seth" eyes. And I think his illustrated Bannock, Beans and Black Tea (co-written with his father John Gallant) should be required reading in our schools. He shor got talent!
