A juvenile Baltimore Oriole "practices" eating serviceberries after being taught by his mom.
We planted this native shrub about 11 years ago and it is a mecca for birds when bearing fruit.
In addition to the orioles, we have seen Black-capped Chickadee, Grey Catbird,
American Robin, Eastern Bluebird, Brown Thrasher, Eastern Kingbird,
American Crow, Cedar Waxing, American Goldfinch, and Purple Finch eating the fruit.
If you like birds (and you should!), plant one!
