This is an 80' high metal sculpture created by Starr Kemph; a local eccentric genius-type guy who built many such objects in his front yard. All of them involve some type of motion. Difficulties beset Mr. Kemph and he committed suicide a while back. His front yard has become a Colorado Springs tourist attraction. This has caused some mixed reactions by his neighbors. One of his time-driven sculptures was recreated in a downtown square by the Utilities Dept. and while doing this they found that he had apparently used no plans or calculations to create them.
