This is a fantastic take on this subject. I've been there a few times and seen many a photo of this wonderful structure. And yet you've managed to capture it in a way that's entirely new to me. Your shot is a work of art all on its own. I love the clouds and the black and white treatment is fantastic. It's as if you captured what the building is trying to get us to look at. Jim H.

Michael, I wanted to agree whole-heartedly with Lonnit's, "one of your personal bests" comment. That is exactly what I thought when I opended it up and saw who the artist is. Eye-catching is an understatement in this instance. Well done. jnconradie

Thanks for the kind words, Julie, Lee, Michael & Ann, they are well appreciated. Lonnit - I thought of you when I posted this one. I knew it was breaking the "rules" and I wondered if it was going to break them enough to be "good" ":^). This is the chapel at the Air Force Academy; a very imposing structure, indeed. I took lots of pix and strangely, this one was the most "eye-catching", at least to my eye. Special thanks to you and your unruly rule of really breaking rules in a big way ":^D Warm fuzzies, -mikey

Wow! Good stuff Mike! Love the straight lines and geometric feel to the bottom and the chaotic feel to the top. Good choice of subjects for this challenge. Ann C

This image supports breaking the rule of never splitting an image at midline. Why? Generally doing so creates two separate images within the image. I think, perhaps, the reason why this works is because the two halves are so drastically different in texture, plus, the extension of the points, over the midline, are thrusting towards the upper third line, at which point, near vertical center, we do have a straight line in the cloud area. Perhaps, also, the fact that this is BW helps unify it. Very well done! I would say one of your personal bests!!! Kudos! ~ Lonnit
