Big Furniture * Traveller

This is not as bad as I feared, nor is it anywhere near what I wanted either. This was set up to be a composite in deep color...I may need a re-shoot.

I will add that even shot at 1/10th of a second...hand held with IS, asa 800, I had to radically use both shaddow/highlights, curves and then neat image to get something acceptable...and radical, radical sharpening after the neat image. Best wishes, T

Traveller, you went back, well done! An excellent addition to the challenge. Love the extreme point of view. Thanks for capturing this gigantic chair. -Michael

I like this one too... seems to have a more subtle luminance balance. Sometimes I think colour can be a little too 'harsh' especially with extreme lighting situations such as this.

Or maybe, it is the slightly different framing of this one that makes the difference?

I like the musician one as well but I think I like this one better. Great capture Trav. ~ Regards Melbob

Hmm. I like the B&W treatment, but I like the presence of the musician. I'd like to see what the other one looks like in B&W. -- Victor

Not as big as I thought, Nico, I am now estimating 35 feet tall. But still, big enough for a car to drive through...lol

I probably prefer this to the composite also, but when you see something in your mind's eye, sometimes you still have to just give it a go and see what happens.

I'd like to put something on the chair...I may try a bouncing magic crystal like ball thing tonight or tomorrow.

In truth, I was out at an outdoor cafe last night doing some work, in fact the cafe` where I was shot last year, and one conversation led to another and the Musician suggested that I place him in the Big Chair...lol

So I took some pictures of him and that's how that came about.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Superb find, Traveller! How high would you estimate this structure was? (I prefer this version over the composite one.) Regards jnconradie
