Oh, Victor - those branches were the bane of this image! I wanted to enter it in competition but there was nothing NOTHING I could do to rid it of those branches. I lightened them, I burned them in, I yadda, yadda, yaddaed them.... still they persisted. I just couldn't get them to not interfere with the shape of the subject trees. It's just too complex an area to start trying to ps out the ones that don't belong to the main trees. Yes, with enough man-hours it could be done, but I just don't have the patience for it. In all the compliments I've gotten on this image, you're the first to mention those branches. Good for you! It's things like this that kill an image for me. You've a good eye to share my annoyance! :) Thank you for confirming that I am not too obssessive! ~ Lonnit
Lonnit, there is something that bothers me about this picture. It is the upper right corner. It looks like there are branches up there, but those branches wouldn't match the shape of the subject. So I suspect a tree in the background is to blame. In any case, I find it very distracting. -- Victor
Thanks, JNC. And yes about BW being better than color - hence this image has never been offered in color. It was quite obvious upon opening the file for the first time that this would be a BW image. A real no-brainer. LOL! ~ Lonnit
Wow! Superb composition and excellent use of the black and white medium. Probably would not have worked nearly as well if it was in colour. ~jnconradie
Lonnit - I know this is the challenge, but I really miss not seeing the pink blossoms!! I find the spring colors with the winter weather refreshing & stunning. -- Jeannie (jburly)
