4th Place
:: Beach Hut Boot Camp ::
by Tim Ashley

Littlehampton, Sussex, England

These two half crescents of beach huts stand next to each other on a beach in the south of England. On a grey day like today they looked rather foreboding so I used the rapidly dimishing perspective effect of a wide angle shot to shoot both in turn, then flipped one and stiched them manually in Photoshop so as to create something like the title is supposed to evoke. My first post here since purchasing my 5D this week!

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
1/100s f/10.0 at 32.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thanks for doing it, Tim. I would have hated to use Pbase's compression on it, I understand that that does horrible things to an image. This one makes me smile whenever I see it! ~Sharon

Sorry, I've done it though it's starting to artifact a little! Tim

Tim, this is over-sized at 170KB, can you bring it down to less than 150KB and repost? Thanks! ~Sharon

Thanks all! And Olaf, ;-) I changed D5 to 5D. It's all so new to me, this Canon stuff! Tim

Tim, you own the camera, you better know its name. Have a look at the front of the camera, if you are confused. Perhaps you took a picture of it and happened to flip in Photoshop? Sorry, I don't know you, and here I am pulling your leg. Interesting shot of (almost) complementary colors!

I love the colors and the shape, Tim! This is a really striking shot with great perspective. The 5D seems to have worked well for you, everything is so nice and sharp. Congrats on the new camera, we are looking forward to more fabulous shots! ~Sharon
