I use CS2. I think maybe I must have cropped a tad more off one side than the other, and that's why the curve is most prominant on one. Now that I'm thinking about it, I believe I was trying to get the shack in just the right spot during cropping b/c I was a bit off in capture. I'd tried the pano tools but prefer the CS2. Next time I will be more anal about making sure I've got it straight, even though it's not all that boythersome. I'm usually anal about that stuff, as you know. LOL! Thanks again. ~ Lonnit

What tool do you use to defish? Why didn't the horizon become straight when you defished? When I defish with panotools, I use 'Remap', 'Fisheye horizontal' and 'Hfov' = 87 degrees - works well. Would render the horizon in this straight and the resulting image would have an aspect ratio of 1:1.7131 (in this it is 1:1.636). Is the horizon really annoying? - you ask. No not really, and as I wrote, I like it very much!

It's not really cropped, just defished and then the largest possible area retained. Is the horizon really annoying? It didn't bother me but I'm just one person. I pulled back on the sharpening on this. Sharper didn't work well IMO because it made the image too technical, taking away from the soft mood. As you know, I'm not big on tack-sharp images - super sharpening draws attention to the sharpness rather than the image itself. Of course there are times for it, but this was not one. IMO, it should be the rare image, not the typical, that should be razor sharp. Unfortunately, I've not used the lens often enough to be familiar with its behaviour yet. Thanks so much for your comments. :) ~ Lonnit

A few Qs: Is this a crop? Did you try to defish? As the horizon is still curved, I tried to defish this to see what it would look like, but my normal settings for this lens over-compensated. You probably would have gotten a sharper result shooting this at F8 or F11 (and iso100). The huge DOF of this lens focused just a few yards away would have captured the image sharp from foreground to background anyway... Still think it's beautiful just as is!
