Grant, no need to be the slightest bit offended! I was NOT saying that blown out white backgrounds are somehow wrong in general - just that in THIS photograph, the slight toning (shadows?) of the upper left and lower right corners is positive and adds depth and interest. I am very wary of generalizations and always tell people that I have to see things - be it clothes, furniture, elements of a building or whatever - in the right context, to see the whole picture, before I can judge them and give my opinion. I would never generalize about blown out white backgrounds being wrong in all photography - no way, not me! --Olaf
