Still the best shot so far in my opinion

Mike,
I like the visual energy created by the use of complementary colors and the motion of the blades. Nicely presented. Roberta

I think this is well composed. At first, I would have said too centered and too tight of a crop. However, because you have shapes and motion, it works very well. For example, the diag. fins directs the eyes to the center and keeps it there following the motion which compliments the picture very nicely. Very nice indeed. Please leave me a feedback too :) on exhibition gallery :)

A great shot for this challenge. Not sure that I agree with the cropping suggestion below. Maybe if I saw it cropped I'd change my mind, but this composition works for me. I love the circles in the middle of the blurred blades, too. And it's nice to see that even a 1D Mk II can blow highlights, just like my 10D!

Thank you all for your kind words.
jonokimber: this was shot at 1/40sec hand held with the 300mmIS at F14 ,ISO 200 (only because I forgot it was on that from a previous shot) LOL.
Thanks again

and i wonder what the shutter speed was?

Mike: Very nice. You picked the right shutter speed. Conveys motion, while still retaining the essential form. Also, plenty of crisp detail to satisfy the eye. Again, very nice. --Joe

Great shot Mike, fits the theme perfectly and the blue sky adds to the overall picture. Vikas.

Nice complementary colors! I do think I would like the composition better if you cropped off some on the left side. I would crop at the point where the "tail" hits the bottom edge of the photo, cropping even some of the tail out and leaving no sky to the left of the "tail". Maybe add a little more blue sky on the right (extend the right side a bit), but I am not sure how much - if at all. --Olaf

nice sharpness and contrast.
