Tobias,
A most excellent shot! Gorgeous in every way. Roberta

Wow... I am so happy if you like it!

The hearts are made of wood. Thats why they float.
They are pretty small... about the size of a thumbnail.

The shutter speed was 1/4000 s but I think a lower speed could have done it too.

Tobias, like everyone else, I like this one the best of your shots. It's a great one and it really says "liquid", more so than most others here (so far). I agree with what has already been said. Apart from that, I also think that the floating hearts in the water surface are an essential part of the success of this image. I also like the level, straight-on view which turns the water surface into a "horizon". Speaking of the "horizon", I think it looks a little tilted and see room for improvement in making it level. I like that it's a pleasant action shot - "action" yet gentle and harmonious. Now, some questions: Can you tell us at what shutter speed this was taken? How big are the hearts and what are they made of (they float!)? --Olaf

Tobias, I really love all your entries and this one in particular. Great use of empty space, great subjects, simple but stunning.

umm... I wanted to have something "nice" for the contest. So i did this one... but i think it would be great for valentine's day... a shame my girlfriend already saw it... maybe I can brainwash her? -- Tobias

Yup, this is the best of the series. Was this intended as a Valentine's Day project? LOL! ~ Lonnit

I have to echo the thoughts of others. This is a truly gorgeous shot. The limited colour palette just works so well. The hearts look tangible in that lovely red colour. And the negative space in the comp is a key element. Presumably this is the same setup as the previous?

Great concept, composition and execution. Was this shot through an aquarium or just a clear glass vase? Nice job of avoiding the reflection off of the glass. I like both of the "liquid hearts" photos, but this one a little moreso.

My favorite of the 3. Very nicely done. I love the contrasts of red against the white. This one just has everything. -- angela :)

Tobias: Oh yeah. Taking them in sequence, I like this the best. Off the beaten path, still crisp and colorful. Also, I like the high placement of the waterline (it projects depth) and the top/left-third placement of the heart (lets the eye wander a bit without getting too distracted). Very nice. --Joe
