This was taken shortly after 9-11. You can see in the background, the remains of the World Trade Center. As horrifying as it was to watch it all unfold on television, and to go to my rooftop to see the billowing smoke for weeks after, being there intesified the feelings to a point that could never be expressed in words. I've never felt The City so cold, yet felt the people so warm. It was as if we were walking on sacred ground.
