I was testing my new lens with the AI Servo mode last week and am very happy with the results. This seagull was at a distance of 25 meters, moving away.
Gotta love this camera system!

Thanks! I thought of cropping closer to the bird but then it became just a bird shot, losing the "going away" feeling which I wanted for the title. So, I used full frame. -RO

First Strike! Well done Ralph. And only 72k! Effective DOF, but would have been nice if we could see a little more detail on the bird. Perhaps bigger in the frame? I dunno. But as I recently did a flight challenge I know how hard it can be to get such shots. I too appreciated the extra focus modes on the 10D
