Thanks all. You knew I bring out the big boy for a wood challenge!

TV - I appreciate your concerns but none of my violins are playable. This one has no post, bridge or strings.

John, The Maglite has a incandescent bulb. Normally I set the camera to Incandescent. Unless I want warmer tones as is the case here. The camera was on Auto White Balance and added the warmer tone I was after. AWB just doesn't seem to get it right.

Very nice warm color, due to the light and the dof is perfect! Love the line (or is it curves) too. Penny Street

Looks like a wonderfully mellow-sounding instrument. My inlaws made the mistake of allowing publicity of their instruments and a month later many were stolen. Take care. -tv

Truly amazing, may I ask what you use for wb setting when painting with light? Dont say flash(light) lol thanks John (picks2592)

Now I understand ... I have not figured out that you were painting with light

Such deliciously rich textures in this lovely instrument. I enjoy just looking at the wood grain and thinking about the wonderful craftsmanship.

Nice Pops ~ Regards Melbob

Thanks Alex. This lens stops down to f32 at the 57mm focal length so I still had a ways to go. I was more after the 30 seconds exposure as I was painting with light using a small flashlight. Of course the depth of field at f20 helps!

Nicely lighted and great color. What is the purpose of f/20 here?
