Like this a lot, but I am not sure about it centered in a rectangle. Maybe a square, or slightly of center for a more interesting compostions. Anyway, it is nicely done and it is an interesting photo, just my thoughts. - Chris

Very cool (and almost creepy) flower shot--what an interesting shape. Love that spiral. --Melanie

Sorry Victor... Your absolutely right... I have trumpet vine on the brain from trimming them for two days. anyway it's Chumash hallucinogenic plant Datura (Datura metel), and every part of this plant is poisonous so use caution if you grow this plant around kids... the two legged kind. ~Scott~

It dawns on me that maybe you were thinking of angel trumpets rather than trumpet vine. Datura and Brugmansia are both sometimes commonly referred to as angel trumpets. Anyway, it's the pointy tips that make me think this is one of those nightshade family species. This is a very nice view of the flower, by the way. -- Victor

Trumpet vine family? I'm afraid this must be another ambiguity, since the trumpet vine family I know does not have flowers with radial symmetry. Could you post a picture or link to a picture with more of the plant and/or an open flower? -- Victor

I must apologize about my lack of followup comments.... my daughter tells me I'm not a very social person. I 'd have to agree. Anyway... Thanks Lisa Marie, just to let you know I can't fold a pillow case never mind napkin. Thanks Victor... Moon flower is part of the Trumpet Vine Family, pretty much a weed of that family and will grow almost anywhere. Thanks too Lydia, I have it in Sq too but I'm always after the print with lots of room for copy. Both are good in there own way. Many Thanks Barry... Even though I'm not a fan of Tim Burton I know what you mean and I would have to agree. Thanks again everyone. ~Scott~

Incredable capture, at first I thought it was some kind of crazy napkin folded up. The arcs of the petal tips are a bit wicked, I have to agree with Barry on all counts :)

By moon flower do you mean morning glory? It looks more like datura to me. -- Victor

Beautiful, Scott. I think it would look really good as a square crop, too. ~Lydia

Really cool - has a Tim Burton "Nightmare Before Christmas" feel to it. Shallow DOF adds atmosphere to the image. Nicely done.
