CSLR Challenge 125 - Old Skool (hosted by Barry Shaffer)
The topic for CSLR Challenge 125 is "Old Skool"
Just like Challenge 124, there is a twist to this one, well actually 3 to be exact.
Rule #1 - "Old Skool" as a theme - be as liberal with your interpretation of this one as you want - if the image makes you think "old skool" (no matter what your interpretation of "old Skool" is) is fair game. But before you go off and 'fire up' your sepia tone filters and B&W converters - Read on...
Rule #2 - "old skool" as an approach - the old skool shooters didn't use photoshop and for this challenge neither will we. Entries must be submitted 'as shot' with NO POST PROCESSING. The only exception to this rule is image resizing (not croping). And while were at it .RAW conversion is technically post processing, so shoot .JPG (ouch)! Now, don't think this means no creative image effects, in fact, they are encouraged. Just think how they were done in the old days - filters, masks, long exposures, light painting, even smearing vaseline on your UV filter will work. Experiment, explore, and most importantly, have fun. ***Exhibition Gallery Exempt from this Rule**
Rule #3 - "old skool" as place of learning - Time to play teacher. For this rule you'll need to teach all of us how you captured your image. If there are some special effects or lighting, share the technical details of your setup. If not, then a quick note on your inspiration for the image, what feeling you were trying to capture and how you used composition, exposure and focus to convey that feeling....
The Eligible gallery is for images captured with a Canon DSLR during the Challenge period and subject to rules outlined in the Official Challenge FAQ.
The Exhibition gallery is for images taken at any time with any camera.
Enter a maximum of three pictures per person in each gallery and please remember the 150kb limit.
