Challenge 104 : Out of Focus (Hosted by Pops)

There are lots of factors we must consider when taking a photograph. I won't list them here, we all know what they are. They are often mentioned in the comments we make. I'm going to eliminate one, just one, and put an undue emphasis on all the others. It's going to force you to consider elements of your photographs that have never been on the forefront, always important but rarely on top. Did you notice I haven't mentioned subject? It will play a very minor role in this challenge. Take pictures of anything you like.

What is my inspiration for this challenge topic? My daughter purchased an expensive coffee table book by David Armstrong called "All Day Every Day." It is a book of photography filled with marvelous large color prints. For a sample of Mr. Armstrong's work take a look at

The interesting thing about the book is that every single photograph is grossly out of focus.

And that's what's required in this challenge.

Challenge 104 - Out of Focus

You can, of course, shoot the images sharp and then use a Gaussian Blur to eliminate the detail and simulate an out of focus image (That is a not so subtle hint to the software challenged on how to simulate OOF). I think it would be more fun to shoot them out of focus to begin with, something I'm sure few if any of us has ever tried. Sharp images and details are not allowed. How sharp and how detailed? The voters will decide.
