These big gree catapillers are stripping leaves and flowers off my tomato plants and some red flowers in the petunia family leaving only the stems. How can I get rid of them?

I FOUND THE SAME ONE IN ILLINOIS. I HAVE THE SAME QUESTION. I NOTICED WHEN I PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BUCKET AND TRIED TO PICK IT UP IT BEGAN JUMPING.
