Isle of Mull - Treshnish, Mornish and Ulva

If you enjoy walking and swimming away from the crowds, this where to go. The Treshnish to Crackaig stretch along the cliff shelf is a known and used track where you may encounter as many as 10 people in a day. If you return either over Cruachan or at the tide margin you will probably see no-one. On the Mornish stretch you will be checked out by the shepherd and his dog. There is no path along Mornish or over the high ground and although it may not seem high, full mountain precautions should be taken.

Calgary has a lovely beach, camping on the foreshore is allowed and the Hotel has a cafe and art gallery, best approached via the outdoor sculpture trail.

Treshnish Farm has several cottages, highly recommended, and seasonal farm produce, otherwise the nearest shop is at Dervaig, several miles along lumpy roads. Cycling around Treshnish - Calgary is fine and Ulva especially good as no vehicles other than the farm tractor, but very lumpy, proper mountain bikes needed.
