Hummingbird hawk-moth

an unexpected visitor to our garden, especially so late in the season; unfortunately incredibly well camouflaged except when flying between plants, so only got this one poor shot

Excellent shot. We had an invasion of these because of the warm summer and southerly Winds. Otherwise they are very rare here.
