Sparrow Hawk

Our garden, Newbourne

since we went away 3 weeks ago it hasn't been worth unpacking the binoculars the garden is so devoid of usual gang of blackbirds, sparrows etc; this may be the culprit as the small birds barely stir during Kestrel visits

taken through glass at dusk, sorry about quality

Nikon 1 J5 ,Nikon 1 NIKKOR VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6
1/250s f/7.1 at 300.0mm iso3200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

We had one around our garden a few years back that caused quite a problem with small birds.

A pretty bird, and nicely captured despite the glass. I'd hide if I were a small bird when this guy was around.

I think it's great to have these Raptors visiting our backyards! Nice capture!
