Ipswich Town Hall - 1

Central section. Built in 1870s in a rather fine Baroque style, but I can't find anything about the architect; almost certainly the same one as the anonymous architect of the Great Eastern Hotel at Harwich with his trademark medallions of worthy people associated with the site

Chris your mention of the Great Eastern Hotel Harwich. prompted me to lookup more history of Harwich.... It is fascinating, such as the item where at the end of WW1 most of the German Navy surrendered and was taken into Harwich.http://www.harwichanddovercourt.co.uk/harwich-quay-2/

An impressive building. A contrast to the large gothic town halls built elsewhere at around the same time.
