Only the church and Park farm remain of the original medieval village, which must have been around here; this area was the post medieval 'park' where animals could be kept contained & the course of its wall and ditch have mostly been identified

In recent times it has become a commuter haven, first by coach and horses, later the railway and now car; its centre of gravity moved towards the railway
