Spring Wildflowers in Vermont

All these flowers except daffodils and tulips are either native wildflowers in Vermont. Myrtle (also known as periwinkle) is a vine-probably not native, but found near abandoned farmhouses and foundations. As the season progresses I will be adding more. They are in the order that they first appear in the spring. Enjoy!

Is this page still monitored? I'm a lifetime gardener but have never been able to make the trip over to see a New England spring before. Planning to visit Vermont as it will be so late by the time we make it over. My friend is Estonian and she is curious about VT for other reasons too! We would love to hear from anyone who can help us plan the trip, around the state's very special wildflowers as a priority. I don't even know when to time our visit. Thank you! Rupert

My Grandson found a yellow flower with a dark yellow center and four blossoms on top of a grass like stem. We were iunable to identify it from any of my wild flower books.

I do not think Coltsfoot is native. It was introduced from Europe and in some areas it is considered invasive.

I'm trying to identify this flower. It grows in ledgy woods - very powerful smell - on a bush. brilliant pink yellow stamens - I took some pictures that didn't come out very well and would send them to you but I don't know how my email is buck116@verizon.net
