I wanted a shot of a female (or juvenile), but didn't look carefully enough at what I was photographing - in this case, the beak (among other things) seems wrong for a pure-bred ferruginous duck.

Great shot of this rare duck (at least in Holland). Pitty this one doesn't show the white eye.
