A day-trip to Caserta, to see the royal palace started by Charles III in the late 1700s. The joint was modeled after Versailles outside Paris, complete with three kilometers' worth of gardens out back. This was another of those places that was just too large and ornate to comprehend and I (unfortunately) became numb to the beauty of it all before long.
I went with Christina, and met my friends the Capuanos there with their two beautiful little girls (Bella still loves me!). Great weather, and good company. Life is good.
