Can somebody tell me if 8 gosslings Egyptian Geese all fledge together? - I have been feeding a family of them for the past couple of months or so, 8 gosslings, the parents are still on the lake but all the gosslings seemed to have gone all at once? - I walk this lake each day, the parents have disowned them for the past week as they were one end of the lake the gosslings at the other. Just cannot find the answer I am looking for

We have a single Egyptian Goose living at Pine Lakes Community in North Fort Myers, Fl. It's been living there for about 4 years with a mate. The last three years living single. It seems happy just wondering around staring in windows and making sounds seeing its reflection.

Medina Lake, Texas: Think we saw pair of Egyptian geese a few minutes ago, but they are MUCH whiter than photos indicate. Same red eye "rings" brown/cinnaon on top, but overall almost as white as snow geese. Pretty birds and "lifers" for us IF Egyptian.

Hello, I live in Hidden Harbor Appart. Complex in R.P.Bch. near Okeechobee Blvd. next to a pretty good sized pond and have observed a beautiful what I think is a goose living with a family of black & white ducks, maybe Mallards. There is an alpha male & his mate who have ducklings a couple times a year. This the problem, he also mates with the white goose we call Quakers, she also lays a large clutch of eggs a few times a year that she diligently sits on & protects with her life. Unfortunately they to her dismay are unviable & I have to dispose them. She lays them directly under my bedroom window, I really believe she wants me to help her. She sees and interacts with the ducks and ducklings as if she is their mother, the female duck does not mind & the alpha male is always by her side and treats her as his second mate. My heart breaks for her. I am hoping someone reads her story & is able to bring her, her very own mate who can finally help this poor, sweet, beautiful white goose have a viable clutch of eggs that hatch out little baby geese. In response to the lone Egyptian Goose at the TJ Maxx pond....The mate of this poor loner died last spring. They normally reside in our neighborhood (Battery Point). We found the loner standing guard over it's dead mate last May. It was very pitiful. We will keep an eye out to see if he/she returns this year.

To the guest from Beaufort SC. I just saw a beautiful Egyptian Goose in with a bunch of Canada Geese at a shopping center in Beaufort. He/she looks very lonely so if you could relocate with others of its kind it would be great. The center has TJ Maxx, Belks and Penneys in it. The little pond is across the parking lot. Good luck.

Yup, we have just sighted eight teenagers on their own in Delray Beach just west of 95 and north of Atlantic. Cruising around the lawn surrounding the pond. Seemed very reluctant to enter the water but we have an aligator here and anti duck condo commandos too. There were a few families of muscovies and many chicks a month ago. Now there are only two females they were not able to find. Two surviving Marsh Hen families with one chick each. That's all. I just don't understand these people. They just come here from the north and change everything they see. Except the early bird specials.

In the past week, I've seen 2 pairs of Egyptian Geese, both with young ones, the first pair with 4 juveniles was in South Dade, on the edge of the waterway Bill Sadowski County Park. The second pair were on the Hollywood Beach Golf Course, alongside N 17th Ave, with 4 little fuzzy chicks. Beautiful Birds!!

Living in Delray Beach, Florida is Fantastik. Now it's even better with the arrival of several Egyptian Geese, say 50 or so. The lake here has never been so active. WoW there beautiful and timid too. They arrived here in late October and I hope they never leave.

We had about 14 Egyptian geese in Pembroke Pines, Fla. They would always hang together. Unfortunately, I don't see them anymore. Do they migrate when it's very hot? Hope they come back!

I have been seeing a pair in Ft Lauderdale near Andrews Ave between Oak Pk Blvd & Sunrise on the south fork of Middle River for about a month. They seem to be right at home & I hope they stay. They add a little class to the neighborhood next to the Muscoveys.

Nevermind I found out where you live ..and my Nana and Pop live there so guess who's coming to check it out...and yes I do believe it was the maintenance of the neighborhood and although Kings point is like a fortress and most likely can get me for trespassing this is not a way to get rid of animals as you can relocate them. Linda ...what neighborhood do you live in because I'll hunt that person down who smashes the eggs and absolutely slap them with an arrest... Yes it can be done You may not believe this but although they aren't protected ..all you have to say is they are "mine" and no one can touch them. The neighborhood association you have also may be the people to blame as they have maintenance men who are the ones who clean up after these ducks or what not. If the Association gave them a secret "yes you can do it" full fines up and down by the FWC also if they did not give the person permission to destroy the eggs, that person faces jail time as well as heftier fines. IF you ever see this person get a description and what vehicle they drive. The reason is there are several avenues of duck advocates who have collected information on these terrorist type people who basically have nothing better to do with their lives and feel they need to do it. Well I find the need to have them arrested if not maimed themselves if they so happen to try to attack me. I know of a guy who drives a WHITE Econoline No Window Cargo Van with the plate "pigeons" he drives into neighborhoods steals all the ducks and kills them or sells them to (UNMENTIONED) Eh hemm Meat and Fish places as well as Miami Dade (Mom and Pop little eateries) So that all needs to be stopped and I'll be the leader of the destruction of these people and the crimes they commit. Trust me there are a lot more animals lovers then there are haters.

Well Hello Everyone - Glad to see an Egyptian Goose / Geese Pair Comment String still active. So I have 4 pairs that live around my house that all were started by one pair that arrived roughly 2 years ago. The eldest live in my mothers neighborhood and the first pair after them are in my neighborhood. Well, Every single day I feed them (birdseed and lettuces) no bread although they do like it and I do feed it to them every so often as a "goodie" but ... To my horror (after the "BAILEY ROAD" Construction project was complete ) after 4 years. I now instead of having a quiet little road that was originally one lane in each direction now is 4 lanes and has a super walmart next to it. I am beyond upset and the memorial gardens across the street from me had a fence up prior to this road being put in. Well now that the road is done I've had to take 4 squirrels/5 muscovies out of the street from being flattened and I watched 2 get hit in front of me and one died in my arms. I love these ducks I love wildlife and I do not like South Florida what so ever. Miami Dade and Broward are simple over crowded melting pots of DANGEROUS and Careless People. To another Horror of mine (3 days ago) I saw a bird in the street deceased... I walked up to it and started to cry. I knew instantly what I saw...One of my pair of Egyptian geese was killed in the street. The other was cackling and looking for it and flying everywhere until she spotted it. I was standing next to it and she landed near me and simply stared for awhile. I brought it to the side of the road because people don't even move out of the way of dead animals down here. So I left for one hour.... Said to my self I'm going to bury it because I bury all others what makes this one less special. So I put it in a bin, and noticed she or he of the pair was following me. It went from roof to roof knowing I took the mate. Then it flew away for awhile. So I proceeded to dig about a 3 foot square hole for proper burial and as I was putting the dirt back into the hole after some nice words and draped with flowers I thought I feel so bad as these "geese" pair for life unless a mate dies. Now muscovies mate with anything and multiple times so when one dies I get upset but not as much as when a pair for life is separated by a mechanical beast we created. After I was done with the burial I turned around and sat down and looked over and noticed (she or he) was back..and must have watched what I did. It was almost as if thank you was relayed and that closure could be a good thing for it. I let some neighbors know who are really good to the pair too and said it was unfortunate but I know what happened and I buried it. They were not happy and a petition is started to RE-FENCE the grave yard across the street because what they (the animals ) see is a giant plain to eat from from across the street and where I live. you need to cross a canal then a now 4 lane highway and then you can get into the grave yard. Well when the road isn't busy you can see clearly all the way down and I find it VERY hard for a human to not see a duck walking across the street on a clear day without speeding or being a scumbag animal killer. So with that being said, I've tried to comfort the lonely goose and it's been behind my house laying next to the burial site for 3 days now. I take care of every muscovy duck / Goose / squirells /lost dogs ..anything I can to help. Also, last but not least let me mention - Use Duck Haven in Margate for all duck RESCUE (injuries or maiming or blindness) the wildlife shelter although they say they don't will euthanize these injured ducks as they are on the "LC" list meaning least concern. It's my HIGHEST concern so I protect them from what ever I see could harm them. I can go on and on but I'll wait for some replies to see if anyone else is interested in what I say about these animals. Thanks for making this site.

They are such beautiful birds and someone from the development smashed the eggs and killed the remaining chicks. There was one chick left and I took it to the pet store and tried to save it. I have personal pictures with this baby, developed some for myself and some others to view. I used a heating pad and box with water and straw recommended by the pet store. With all my effor the baby died the next day. It happened again after someone found the new eggs in a different place and smashed them. I was heartbroken.

We have a pair of Egyptian Geese here in Kingspoint Tamaraac in Weldon H pool location. They have bred twice so far. This season they returned and made a nest with 10 eggs. Apprently someone in their infinite wisdom decided to kill the geese when they hatched. They smashed 3 unopened eggs and killed the babies. I was lucky to see that there was one left and I took it to the pet store. I did what they said and the goose didn't survive. I took pictures of the baby that I rescued and tried my best to keep it alive. Another nest appeared in a different section of the pool and guess what? This was disscussed between just 4 people in the complex trying not to let anybody know what was there, Some idiot went and smashed 9 eggs and now there is nothing. If I knew who was doing this I would chop off their hands. The point is the beauty of the bird and they don't bother anybody! Does any one out there know how long it takes a baby to learn to fly?

A pair of Egyptian Geese have been coming to my street every day for the last few weeks. I live on a dead-end street in South Florida on the border of Hollywood and Dania Beach.They fly in from the north, honking loudly, every morning and late afternoon to graze in the yards and on the street. It's so funny how they will move over just far enough to let your car go by, honking at you the whole time! They seem to like the greenest, lushest lawns the best, but also spend quite a bit of time in the street. Today it rained all day and the geese came in the middle of the day. The swales were flooded and brought lots of bugs to the surface. They are very bold and will stand their ground or even move toward you (hoping for food?) as you approach them, honking louder the closer you get and sometimes standing tall and flapping their wings (Beautiful!), until you get within about twenty feet and then they just slowly go off in another direction, honking disapprovingly. Even when kids or my goofy Doodledog run toward them they only fly about forty feet before landing to graze again. If I see them a couple of houses down I will go out and mimic their honk and they will perk up and start coming toward me. An Ibis came into my yard to get some of the goodies they left behind and they came honking back to tell him who's Boss but then let him continue grazing near them.Since they let me get so close I've gotten the best pics I've ever gotten of any bird - sometimes they seem like they're posing!

I just saw one today at WAKODAHATCHEE WETLANDS in Boynton....took many good photos having never seen such a bird: I wonder if he/she is someones pet? It looks like with all these responses they are reasonably frequent, though in all the years of visiting Green Cay, Wakodahatchee, Corkscrew Swamp, Sanibel I'd never seen one

An Egyptian Goose arrived on our pond in Melbourne, June 2012, He stayed 3 weeks, very placid, eating under the wild bird feeders with glossy ibis, Sand hill Cranes and black bellied whistling ducks. It had a large [3"] black dot on lower white breast - does this identify sex? Not seen again after 3 weeks.

It took a lot of on-line looking to finally find out what we were seeing. Lots of Canada geese that come through Northwest Arkansas, but these really stand out.

I just found a flock of about 10 or so of these beautiful birds, at Taylor Park in North Miami Beach. I had to stop and take pictures, I have never seen these birds before. They were not afraid and I got pretty close to take the picture. They were hanging out with ibis and coots.

We have an injured Egyptian Goose staying near our patio in Palm Beach Gardens. The wing feathers on one wing have been striped clean. He hangs around with the Muscovy ducks. We'll feed him cracked corn and a mix of seeds until he's healed and ready to fly. Truly beautiful bird and never makes a sound.

A couple of days ago there were two Geeses sitting on top of our "bird/duck house" in our lake in Biscayne Gardens (Miami Fla) Living here for over 40 years it's the first time we had these visitors,they only hung around for one day though,hope they come back to keep the Ibis's and Coots happy.

There are a pair of Egyptian geese hanging around the lake in Oak Grove Park in North Miami Beach, FL. Last winter, at one point, there were ten of them. To date we have not seen any goslings. Hopefully we will soon. They are not aggressive and seem to get along with all the other wading birds.

We have two Egyptian Geese that flew on to our Kendall (Miami) property today. According to Audubon Society in Miami, they have even been spotted deep within Everglades National Park.

We live in Plantation (Royal Palm South off Peters Road) and their must be over fifty Egyptian Geese that hang out at one of the houses. The people feed them and they found a home there. It is hard for people to drive by when they just stay in the middle of the road. Very strange!!

Jupiter, FL Just spotted a large flock of about twenty geese. They seem friendly and get along with the other ducks. They are not originally from this area but from Africa. I hope they stay for a while!!

I live in Delray Beach, FL and 4 Egyptian Geese showed up about a week ago. They seem to be friendly, but are not too sure of people yet. They are absolutely gorgeous!!!

We have a lone Egyptian Goose in our backyard, he just appeared a few days ago. We have mallards, woodstorks and black-bellied whistling ducks and he gets along with all of them. He eats the grass in the lake and cracked corn, no honking noises so far. Absolutely beautiful and very exotic looking! We are on the east coast of FL in Melbourne. There has also been one sited in the Viera wetlands close by, may be the same one.

These geese are in the waterway and adjoining land behind my condo in Hollywood, Florida. They are very agressive and noisey....much more so then the muscovy ducks that normally live in the area.

I saw two Egyprian Geese at Lucerne Lakes, Lake Worth, Florida, for several days in February, 2011. I was puzzled as to their identity until I started viewing websites such as this. They are beautiful.

We had a pair of Egyptian Geese at our apartment lake last week. Some people said they looked "scary" because of the black circles around their eyes but I was fascinated and thought they were absolutely beautiful. They came close to eat bread and were very sweet.

We live in Tamarac and we have a family of 9 - 7 babies were born in March sometime and their mom and dad. The dad and some of the babies eat right out of my hand. I love these birds and the adult male's name is Bully ... due to how cruel he is to others who pose interest in eating his food. I've heard that now that the babies are about to fly, they may move to another location! OH i hope not.. I love these geese and don't ever want to see them leave!

Tonight in Covered Bridge have been visited by a pair of Egyptian geese. These appear to have rings. And thank you, but I don't mind chatting up our Muscovies. Birds, thank god, are birds.

The City of Plantation (FL) library on Fig Tree Lane had a pair at the canal there today. My daughter and I fed them some bread and crackers. So beautiful!

This is the first time I see these Geese in this area. A couple arrived two weeks ago and seem to have stayed. I have been trying to find out what they were, but had not been able to see them upclose until today. They were fighting against the mirror windows of our office and have been honking all morning. They are beautiful to watch but are very loud. This is Doral, FL.

There are two of these beautiful geese hanging out in the park where I take my morning walks in Mission Viejo CA. When I first saw them I had no idea what kind of geese they were, but after some research I discovered they are Eygptian-WOW what a treat!

I have one small lone goose today in Oakland Park on Royal Palm Lake. About 6 passed through here about 2 years ago. In reading about them found they can be very aggressive with other birds, ducks, etc.

My aunt has had a total of 13 of these beautiful geese at her house in Ft. Lauderdale. It looks like 6 pair, with one extra one. She now has 7 visiting her. They spend the whole day with her at her home. I call her the duck whisperer. What beautiful birds!!

My mother has a pair of these geese that come up in her yard honking, they eat seeds that have fallen out of bird feeders and will also eat certain flowers and plants. They are beautiful, but are also very vocal. They've been around her house for almost a year. We have not seen any young .

We have them in Dania Beach, FL (Ft Lauderdale) at one of the golf courses too. They are usually paired off. One pair has three babies. They are quite mean in their little areas of the golf course and chase after the ducks that are around, especially the baby ducks they give them quite a beating. I have been able to feed them grains, and such suited food for geese now since it has been so cold.

Saw a group of about 60-80 of these geese just East of US 441 on the South side of Copans Rd in Margate, FL. Huge group. No exaggeration. I counted them. The parking lot right by the lake was covered in droppings. It looks like they have been roosting there for a while.

I saw a group of these geese yesterday in Boca Raton on Glades Road west of 441. They were standing in the street and the cars were all stopping to check them out. I wasn't sure what they were but knew they weren't ducks. They are very beautiful and was quite exciting to see.

Along with Beverly, i live in Davie on the Pine Island Ridge golf course, there are two adult egyptian geese, they are in my back yard when i come home from school because i feed them, they are vary wary of their surroundings, a couple months back they had 3 babies and then they were gone for about two months, and today they are back in my backyard geting fed bread aand corn everyday. They are very loud sometimes too. But thats only when i take a nap and forget to feed them, but they quickly wake me up and then i feed them.

I am happy to report there are 3 adults, and a bunch of babies in the "golf course water hazard" in my back yard, in Palm Aire, in Pompano Beach......thought they were gone a week or so again, but saw them tonite.......got to be at least 8-10 babies.......Only problem....when I go out with my 300mm lens.....they take off, over to the other side of the lake, and I'm having a real problem getting a "close" shot......Any suggestions?????

I have seen two breeding pairs this year. One on Deercreek Golf Course in North Broward. Also there is a breeding pair in Boca Raton just North of Verde Trail West and just West of Saint Andrews in a retirement community there.

Spotted a pair pf them here in Sunrise last fall. After month or so absense they have reappeared with 7 little ones in tow. Also saw third adult this AM, and it appeared 'fight'over female probably was going on.

A pair of Eygptian Geese recently made their home at St Andrews Estates South in Boca Raton, FL and soon 7 small ones appeared and are growing rapidly and now look like they are in their "teens". We are all enjoying them very much.

The population of feral Egyptian Geese is growing rapidly in South Florida. Last night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. there was a jamboree of 23 adult Egyptian Geese on the golf course outside my balcony in Pompano Beach, FL, just north of Fort Lauderdale. It was amazingly peaceful, no fights and no flights and very little honking. They walked around chatting quietly or swimming together for a while in the canal, but mostly grazing and chatting. Two years ago we had a total of nine, and earlier this year we had a total of fifteen: a pair, a trio, and a pair with eight offspring who are all adult sized now. But last night, lots of others also appeared; I don’t know where they came from. July 25, 2009

a pair of these unusual looking geese landed on a pond in boca raton ,florida. after 2 days ,one disappeared and several days later the second one vanished. is it unusual to see these birds in sub-tropical climate. ruth.
