Mary Cassatt

Cassatt was born in Pennsylvania to a family of means, but spent most of her life in France involved in the arts of the day. She was known as a painter who was also involved in printmaking. She exhibited with the original Impressionist and was a close friend and collaborator with Edgar Degas. The life of women and children were the main subjects of her canvases. She died in Paris in 1926.
