We had training today about snakes and snake bites
The handler/educator is Mr. Jimmi Bonavita, A biologist with the Navy
Now, granted, there isn't too much concern about that dentally . . .
But I found it immensely interesting, nonetheless
For instance . . . did you know you should NOT apply a tourniquet to, cut into the wound of NOR suction out the venom from a snake bite???
A light ligature is best (something loose enough to slip a finger or two under, but tight enough to apply SLIGHT pressure above the bite)
Then hurry up & get to a hospital
Then the expert brought out some snakes . . .
We were mesmerized!
This Asian cobra was VERY active . . . so much so it actually got off the table & away from the guy
But the expert was faster & got it back again
=)
