02-JUN-04 BLIND-AMBITION

Right next to the Naval Air Station is a Stable
This fella was vigorously trying to eat everything around him

There were other horses near, so maybe he felt competition
Why his eyes were covered . . .dunno

Maybe it was a version of blind man's bluff

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(6/3/04 UPDATE ON THE EYES:
This is apparently a fine mesh cloth thru which the horse can actually see
It is there to protect the eyes from the annoyance of lots of bugs & flies
These masks or veils are also made to cover ears for the same reason)
SO THERE YA HAVE IT . .THE HORSE IS JUST FINE
IT'S SORT OF LIKE SUNGLASSES, I GUESS
Olympus C-740UZ
aperture priority horsie mode; f 3.2; ISO 100; 1/160 full exif
other sizes: small medium original auto
How cute is this?!
Anna Yu04-Jun-2004 14:47
What a good idea, wonder if it works on humans too?
penny roots04-Jun-2004 10:07
Oh , now i've just seen you already found that out , silly me !
Hi Pete , great shot , he has a fly shield on . he can see through it because it is made out of fine mesh .
ok weird I read Jeanne's comment after I posted mine. Hi Sister.
Lara S03-Jun-2004 20:52
maybe they were playing pin the donkey, or in this case pin the human. Harde har har.
snootydog03-Jun-2004 13:17
Really nice shot Pete... I love the wisp of mane over the blindfold. I wish I knew what the blindfold was for though.
Poor guy has to wear a tablecloth on his head. I wonder where he gets his hair styled.
Adalberto Tiburzi03-Jun-2004 12:32
Blindfolded 'cos he told his owner he wanted to join the PaD game.
Guest 03-Jun-2004 11:10
Maybe its to stop him from HORSING around with the other horses!
Guest 03-Jun-2004 07:50
Poor thing, hope he/she is alright. Go back there now and than and let us know how it's doing :)
awwww... poor thing... i hope his/her eyes are okay!
It's a beautiful photo. It is a bit sad because it isn't just a horse in a tranquil field. He probably has to be blindfolded or the commotion next door would upset him. Too bad he can't live in a more peaceful place.
joshishots03-Jun-2004 01:45
nice shot - seems sad he's blindfolded.
Guest 03-Jun-2004 01:44
Me, me! Not my! LOL
Guest 03-Jun-2004 01:42
You mean "blind mare's bluff," don't you? Anyway, my wife blindfolded my once... but that's another story.
Nice pic, though!
Braveart03-Jun-2004 01:35
Rick Lewis03-Jun-2004 01:32
Nice clear image.
Robin Reid03-Jun-2004 01:27
Fascinating. Now I'm curious. This may be the first time you've 'horsed' around with an image?
Guest 03-Jun-2004 01:26
He was playing "Pin the tail on the Horsey!" LOL!!!!
