27 MAy 04 OPEN WIDE

Mama Bird has trained them well . . she sits not far away & chirps her signals to duck down
I'm not fast enough even with a flash to catch all of them up & peeping
I'm pretty sure there are four, but I only count three here

these guys are about the size of half a thumb (ie, from your thumbnail to the knuckle) and that's being GENEROUS in size guessing

Olympus C-740UZ
1/30s f/8.0 at 6.3mm iso100 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

How can something so ugly grow up to be so beautiful

amazing - I'm not sure how I've missed these Pete but they are completely fantastic

Nice catch. They are probably days old.

Nice picture, great details and sharpness. Seems to be only 3 babies from the original 7 eggs. Well, that's a bird's life...

They look embryonic. :) This is a great series.

Oh my Gods, they're so ugly! I like birds lots, but when they're babies they sure don't have the looks like kittens or puppies do! Nice pic though. They look very vulnerable.

Still amazing

I am fascinated by the pre-feather fur. Great, as always.

Don't quit your day job ;-) but you could work for National Geographic!
Or this shot could be subtitled: The Peep Show.
Very nice.

Oh wow. What a neat shot. I hope you dangled a worm from your mouth and fed the hungry one. :-)
Guest 28-May-2004 00:53
Nice and sharp... well done.
Guest 28-May-2004 00:45

Poor little fellows. :( I hope the rest of them make it to adulthood. Keep us posted!
