Not sure if it's a juvenile or a female

the mesh bag feeder filled with thistle seed is just below this tree and filled to capacity with other finches
so this one waits for a turn

Oh,I love goldfinch. I keep trying to attract them, but never have much luck. Sometimes, but not often enough to get any sort of decent picture.

Our goldfinches are very different to this. Ours have bright red faces and black & white heads. I'd show you a pic, but I don't have your patience for bird pics... :-)
