Kathmandu, Nepal

Pashupatinath is Nepal's most important temple. Just behind it on the shores of the Bagmati river is "Arya Ghat", the most widely used place for cremations in Nepal. This is where the dead from the royal massacre in 2001 were cremated.
Despite how it may look in this picture there was no particular odour here - at least from where we were standing.

Another great composition.
...and yes - as Steve siad - I remember the smell all too vividly, standing on the top of that wall in the background with the wind blowing the smoke right over it. Sandalwood doesn't exactly make it smeel "good", per say.
