December 7 2003:
A Winter's Day

Weston Patrick, Hampshire

You may have already learnt from Chris, that today has been one of bright sunshine. I decided to head out west about 20 miles to enjoy the Hampshire countryside. I hope this shot conveys the type of day it really was; one that means so much more than the snow that is so often portrayed in those festive cards.

This tree had a beautiful shape back in the day.

A pity to see the tree down and out now (2013) - it looks so good here

Outstanding feel here .. sad really. Love the composition .. love way you left the huge blue sky and the lone tree. Perfection.

Great shot, Ray! Love the baran feel to it!

Dramatic, beautiful composition, Ray! Preserving the height in the sky increases the "starkness" of the photo. Love the graduation in that sky!! Tremendous work! :)

BTW - you could increase the drama of this photo by zapping out those barely-visible tree tops on the horizon line by using the clone stamp tool in PS. Give it a whirl! :>

I love this shot Ray. Reminds me of an album cover. Have a look at my picture from Sunday tonight (I need to upload it at home then - great minds?)

WOw! Such a gret shot! I love the tree off to the right, and the HUGE blue sky!! Excellent job, Ray!

We were in Hampshire today too - all of 2 miles from home! This is just what it was like - good shot!

Beautiful composition - simple, yet strong interpretation of solitude.
