Abinger Hammer is a small village at the foot of Surrey's North Downs famous for its blacksmith's gong each hour, as seen on the tower on the left.

Until the M25 motorway was built around 1980, this road carried traffic from my area to Kent and the channel ports. It is of course now a lot quieter.
