I fondly remember being down at London's Gatwick airport this particular day as it was my first excursion with any kind of telephoto lens, in this case a Soligor 200mm.

We were able to park the car by the road and shoot over a low fence. Now this spot is shielded by trees and a high security fence.

London-Gatwick, 6th September 1972.

Wow! That's a nice catch.
I was too young to take pictures of them at the time I saw them flying but it surely it's a plane I would have loved to spot.

Aye, what a great shot, just at the right moment. Always really liked the livery, it looks regal! ~V~ The Scan is very well done- ist DIY or professional?

I was using a Praktika as well in the early 70ties... nice memories!

I remember a couple of trips to Heathrow as a child to watch the planes! How times change!

Was this the 'dearie me' airline? LOL!

Great shot, but sad how things have changed over
the years, everything shielded from us now ...
