March Seven Days Seven Themes Challenge
Tuesday Rule of Thirds
This is the portico at the Big House/Seminar House which leads from the main house to the servants'
kitchen. The founding family, William Shirley and Rose Fulton, working with Tucson architect
Merritt Starkweather, built their home in Texas Canyon in 1931. Mr. Fulton retired as Chairman of
the Board of the Waterbury Farrell Foundry and Machine Company of Waterbury, CT, to devote full time
to his true passion - archaeology (here in Texas Canyon, Dragoon, AZ).
