The salt is on the table...

Before Barack Obama, the USA were like a dish that tasted nothing.
Now the salt is on the table.
BO talked about a new era of responsibility.
Will the corporate world become more decent, less greedy
and, for a change, responsible towards the rest of the communities?
The real challenges begin.
Time will tell. How much time...?

2016, HE did as bad as the previous ones...
The real chance was with Bernie Sanders.
Elections are rigged
Americans have to choose between two evils: Air head Trump - Hypocrite Clinton / August 2016

Good stuff Claudia.

Very catchy image and analogy you made here Claudia... indeed it is time for some decent taste from this 'world leader' of this narrow minded country. Lets hope expectations are not too big, lets hope he will keep a healthy view the next couple of years while he is in that powerful seat.

To monsieur Hamon ;)
Alors, si on s'y mettait?

The task is huge for anyone running a democratic country...my best wishes are for him. I hope he achieves & is long remembered for what he did, not who he was !!

To Blue : "Obama is the proof that things CAN change"... No : this is the proof that someone make others believe that things can change... That makes a huge difference. Of course, things can't and won't be worst than with the silly Bush (Rest NOT In Peace), but do they actually have power to significantly change things - and not only for american people, but also let's say for Palestinians ? Time will tell... But please, Obama, DO NOT change Blue and her wonderful pictures !

To Zyzyza: I don't trust people who pretend to know everything. That is not what Obama is conveying as a message either... He is for mutual respect and common interests. i do pefer somebody who shows openness of the mind, like he does, good will and good intentions as opposed to anybody who is just a dictator with a big ego, a thirst for power and control and no respect for others who don't "think" like them... I can't stand narrow, weak and dictators minds...

To Dave H.:
Yes Dave, i totally agree BUT the corporate world, so far, with its outrageous greedyness, contributed LARGELY to the global problems/chaos, not to the solutions... Changes must come from the most powerful ones (all areas of power, including overpaid athletes, organisations, corporations, banks, governments around the world, the Madonnas of this world and everybody in between etc..) so the ones with ILLUSION of power (you me and everybody in between) can, in turn finally have a real chance to also DO better and contribute to the solutions, not the problems. Barack Obama elected is the proof that things CAN change... Bush was a disaster for the USA, Obama "might" make a difference in the USA and perhaps bring a wind of healthier influence/inspiration on the rest of the planet, at least, that is what i wish for them, hoping that our own Bush twin (Harper) learns something. Mentalities/intentions/actions inflated egocentrism and thirst for power have to change, one person at a time, there is too much sleepwalking going on......

It's clear a new era has arrived and there will be new and long awaited tastes for those who show up at the table. I'm hopeful... Provocative image and message!

A great comparison, President Obama has a lot on his shoulders.
Steve Mockford21-Jan-2009 09:43
An interesting analogy Claudia, supported by a great photograph. It will be interesting to see if he can indeed lead the world as though those issues are certainly not Americas alone.
Dave Hein21-Jan-2009 07:39
We're each part of the mechanism that runs this clock.
It's not as much up to him now as it will be to all of us.
Kathryn21-Jan-2009 07:33
I agree totally, something we should all take on board - and pull together.
Robyco21-Jan-2009 07:22
