Middle of the night...

--The sacrifices of a loving and caring mother--
The result of 2 speed medicine:
Private: first class and fast for the rich
Public: Not first class and very slow for the rest of us

The waiting is...long in public services...
From midnight until 08h00 a.m.
There was....ONE doctor for THE WHOLE HOSPITAL...
So, ONLY the ones who came by ambulance were...taken care of...

The rest of us?
Forbidden to go sleep at home and come back,
EVEN if we know, there won't be any attention given to us
before...08h00 in the morning.

They said, to each of us, your turn is almost there...

Yeah sure,
We know better...
We all had an average of minimum 15 hours wait
but most cases, it was more than that.

I am not impressed at all
with our governments
who think that ALL is under control
I once had to wait 23 hours with a kidney stone problem
sitting on that same chair! Emergency room my foot.

I am sure she got back home with bruises under her arm
from TRYING to find a decent position to rest her head for too many hours in a row
in what is a lost battle in the first place.

(part of 24+ hours in ER...)

You speak of a medical system that triggers exhaustion and frustration quite well here, Claudia. You show us your skill at photojournalism, telling a story with a picture.

Those waiting times are shameful...doesn't strike me as a place of care. Sue the administrators.

This bothers me so much! That is what scares nme about socialized medicine!

So true. So true. Controlling the pain and discomfort and managing the anticipation for relief is thoroughly exhausting, physically and emotionally. The images tell the story so very well.

Very emotional photo... just incredible you have to wait so long for any normal help in a 'civilized' country like yours...
