MLK Jr. Day event sponsored by the African Americans and Friends Social Club of Rossmoor. The Flash Mob included several dance and singing groups, individuals and six weeks of work to form. They never practiced together until the actual performance. Everyone practiced by watching a video demonstration by Joan Harris, a Rossmoor line dance instructor, that was placed on YouTube. They practiced in front of their computers in the privacy of their own manors. When the one-time performance, in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was completed, they joyously cheered him and their efforts, then "coolly" walked away with the wonderful memory of coming together for one dance.
