Have fun at Bridge. I'll be busy being a human pin cushion at the park.

Dave V - yes, I was by the fishing dock. We probably saw it as it was in the morning, and very cloudy with off on on light rain, and he decided to come out.

Sat night - thanks for the invite, but I am playing bridge up in Plymouth.

Sure looks like the same place. Over by the fishing dock?
Yeah, it's dark under the canopy, and most of the time, nothing happens until 15 minutes before sundown.
We'll be down there tonight, the 7th. If you come down, look for a dark grey Outback with orange ribbons on the rack.
There so many of these cars around, it's the only way I can find it in a parking lot, and it helps friends to flag us down
while we're out shooting in different areas.

It could be the same bird. It is probably about the same place, though very different day. I had clouds and rain. July 5 was a nice sunny day. And I had the wrong lens.

Sometimes one just gets lucky being in the right place at the right time as you certainly seem to be most of the time. Great shot! Maybe it’s the same bird Jim was shooting over in pending. Paul

A great capture of a great catch.

You are correct (the second time) it's a mouse.
This is on a flooded path.
The egret was catching minnows, then it suddenly ran to it's left and grabbed this poor little mouse.
It was swift. I don't think the mouse knew what hit him.
It was swung around a couple times, dunked a couple time, then down the hatch.
Pure dumb luck to catch this happen.
And yes, it was a first for me to see one of these shore birds get a rodent.

That's not a frog! A mouse? I was out and about, party boy that I am, and commented on this image on my phone....my bad. Traveller

Food chain.

Poor Mr. Frog! He may have been a fast frog or, a slow one, but it probably made little difference against this supreme hunter with...a beak to kill.

Lovely and tailsmanic truth...
