Energy in the form of heat is released as dew is formed which is why the air tempature never drops below the dew point unless the moisture content in the air changes.

Dave the ocotogonal shapes are light being reflected/refracted off Nearby dew drops. The strength of effect is related to the distance and the f stop. At f11 octo shape of the diagram is visible and wide open they are round. As you can guess the more you stop down the more pronounced it becomes. Paul

I love the suspended water droplet and background. Are such octagonal (?) shapes characteristic of the 100 L macro?

Our nighttime temps these days are about 60.
Last month we had a dew point of -2 deg, when the day time temp was in the high 80s.
That was really dry.

During the winter this year, we had low temps in the high 20's to low 30s.
Dew points those days/nights were in the single digits.

This is the 6D and 100L lens, every time I download directly from the camera to the iPad via WiFi and edit using Lightroom the EXIF is stripped. It was F11 ISO 800 1/30 handheld.
I have plans for a similar shot so if I work it out I’ll replace this one with a new one. Paul

BTW, we are heading to 97 with a dew point of 21. We are a bit dry here.

Now this is a very fine capture. The Exif got lost - is this the 100 mm macro lens?
