I don't do this, but others go to this park and feed the deer. The deer have little to no fear of humans. I've been in the fields and woods while the rut was going on and I never had any real fear from any of these animals. My closest encounter was when I was sitting on a log not moving much when a very large buck was chasing off a smaller buck.
Thesmaller buck was looking around while running, and he was heading straight at me. I had to jump up and yell at the deer. He veered off about 10 feet from me. There was no malice intended. As for the deer, the park is in the city. If he stays off the highway, he can live a very long life. davev
This is a yearling whitetail deer. A little buck. If you look closely, you can see the buttons starting above his brow. I hope he can stick around for a long while. I want to see him with a large rack some fall. I've seen him a few times, and always in the shadows. In the sun, the blue at the bottom of his eyes are really vibrant. I have some close ups from tonight, but the light wasn't right to show it off. davev
