Thanks everyone.

The falls are somewhere between 50 and 55 feet, I don't remember the exact height.
I wear tennis shoes years round, this day was no different. If you look at the one shot
from in front of the falls, you see a trail going behind. That's the dumb way in.
On the top edge, where I took the summer/fall shot, if you step over a wall, you can pretty
much have an easy walk to the landing behind the falls. It was fun to watch a bunch of
people slide down the ice path.

Traveller, you are way to kind.
If you're ever in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, drop me a line. (or anyone else)
I'll take you to all these spots and show you how easy it is to get shots like mine.
I'm nothing special.

This shot keeps drawing me back to it - very very well done.

Oh my that's fantastic, love the wide angle and the person on the left for scale. I hope you were wearing ice cleats. Paul

Oh wow! Thanks for the link....from the ice pictures I didn't suspect that the falls was this high...I often say that this image or that is....extraordinary good...which is true, but the sheer volume of perfect images from you is bordering on astounding.

You raise the bar for everyone...thanks for sharing.

For the 5K ... I have no idea. Smugmug added that. Probably the size.
I normally save at 2400 x 1600 for the web.

Do people climb it. I've never seen anyone do it, plus I don't think it would
be the safest thing to do. There is still some flowing water, I wouldn't trust the ice.

This is from 5 years ago, before it really got on the radar to go behind it.
This year, dozens of people were doing it daily. There are signs telling people
not to venture behind the falls, but no one cares ... until they started to hand out
tickets for trespassing.
That stopped a lot of it.

What it looks like in the warmer seasons.

Interesting and beautiful from both sides. Do people climb those falls?

Oh lord, those are very different pictures...and there is a person off to the left in that one too...if you don't mind me asking, you being the proper teacher, me being the supplicant pupil, what does the 5k mean on the end of the image link...obviously, 5k resolution?

As always, great, great stuff from you...though I may like the second even better...though both are fabulous.

A look from the outside.

Very good...I thought this might have been from inside a giant shark, or a baleen whale instead of a water falls...the tiny people off to the left is a nice benefit. Traveller
