Re haze - PS and LR have a new feature called dehaze. It works pretty well.
Send me an untouched raw file, and I'll try it for you.

No, not smoke haze, at least I don't think so...I had to work like a dog burning the mountains in PS and adding tons of contrast to even get this....
I stayed at the Grand Teton twice this trip...I have tons of pictures of it....I may try again.
I think it is really just a vast distance....and when you get close, it is too close...
