My First Camera

The very first camera I ever bought (back in the 1960s) was a Kodak Instamatic 104 like this one. (This is not the actual camera, but one like it that I bought on eBay just for the nostalgia of it.) The camera used drop-in 126 film cartridges and flash cubes. The only control was the shutter release. The inset black & white image is an actual image I took with my original Instamatic 104 at a high school dance back around 1965-66.

Canon EOS Rebel SL1 , Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5 - 5.6 IS STM
1/30s f/5.0 at 13.0mm iso1250 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Thanks, Paul, for your comments. And no problem about confusing the gender ... That was sometimes easy to do even face to face back then! - Ken

Georgia we welcome comments from anyone whether you have a shot in the challenge or not. I looked at your Pbase gallery and you have some excellent work posted. I especially like your studio still work, similar to my style but yours is better. We would welcome and I would like to encourage you to join the group. As you already know it's all for fun and to further ones skills. Paul

Amazing. I am not part of this group, so probably should not comment, but...
I too had one of these, or one very much like it at the same time. It IS nostalgic!
And we thought they took great pictures. LOL!
Great idea to imbed a snap from the original camera. What fun!
How times have changed.
Have we?

I remember the huge buzz about those rectangle glasses he's wearing. Roger Mcguinn with the Byrds got that fad started. I wanted a pair myself but we were a very poor family so if I wanted anything I had to find a way to earn money to buy it. Mowed a lot of yards and put up way too much hay in those days to earn money. Fantastic entry by the way. Paul.

Now this brings back good memories.
Embedding a shot is a stroke of genius.
