2nd Place Fine Art

Po-Dink KS.

I was strolling through the acclaimed gallery of fine arts in Po-Dink Kansas and noticed this artists work. I don't think he's sold too many prints. Paul

The sort of drink you «mixed» for this photograph (with or without frame) will definitely represent an interesting contrast to your Boy Scout credentials, Paul. ;-)) db.

Fear not Daniel, I don't take that type of C&C personally. I accept knowing that everyone has a different observation and opinion of everything. I have a action for photoshop that puts on the frames for web display. I added the white mat but the action placed the border frame. This action is different from one I used to have till they updated and ruined it. I should have stayed with the simple black frame instead of the shaded frame but it's too late into the challenge for me to worry about that.

I am considering printing this image on canvas for my office in which I would completely remove the mat and frame layers anyway. This may be a little too modern abstract but maybe it's time for a office makeover anyway. Half of my office walls are taken up with boy scout plaques and certificates. For a while I was a over achiever in the program till I burnt out................. Paul

That's interesting, Paul: it shows once more how inappropriate human beings—in this case me—are to perform any task as witnesses (as people working in judicial systems have known for ages): I remember my thoughts about the obvious band type white frame and how amused I was by the artist Paul Alters' signature and «print numbering» there; but I could have sworn not having seen the finer grey lines before they appeared to my eye (and mind) this morning. — I hope you understood my remark as hotw it was meant: as an expression of just my personal taste; not of criticism! ~ db.

I have not edited or changed the image since I first uploaded it. Paul

Is it just me or is your frame indeed expanding, Paul?? When it was (as I think it was when you first posted Mr. Alters fine Fine Art work) just the one white "band", it made some sense to me (where else could Alters have signed and put the print numbering?) Now, IMO, with the additional fine lines, it looks somewhat pretentious to me. Just my 2¢, of course! ~ db.

A long time ago I was installing some new branch circuits for commercial photography studio in Kansas City. They were shooting a sandwich platter for a new menu for a local diner when I mentioned to the photographer that the food they were shooting really looked delicious and makes me want to run over to the place for lunch. His comment back to me was the foods we use in the studio are not editable because they use all kinds of weird stuff to make them look as presentable and enticing as possible. This cocktail would fall under the same category, you wouldn't really want to consume it. Would not make you sick but it would not make you very happy either. Paul

Paul - this is an exclusive work ... Excellent! Have no idea how you did it but please keep the mystery. Only one question - did it also tested well?

Certainly interesting, though I am equally confused on how it was done. Perhaps mystery is the better part of knowledge in this case.

All ya gotta do is ask and I, give you step by easy step instructions. Some of it is shooting and some is a photoshop effect. Paul

Very colorful liquid. I wonder how he did it?

I was wondering if anyone would catch that minor detail of the print numbering sequence. Good eye Daniel. Paul

MY APOLOGIES: By error I've deleted a comment here (I can't remember who had written it; possibly Jim). My bad: I'm awfully sorry! ~ db.

Great art had always difficulties at first to be understood by the public... ;-)) But the artist might anyway have problems if he tried to sell more than one copy of his «1/1» labeled work! ~ db.

I wonder why because certainly has lots of appeal.

Well, he should, this is wonderful in conception and execution! Sell large copies to your local watering holes. Best Wishes, Traveller
