Thanks K. If you're talking about the aperture on the lens, it works best at f/8 or smaller. The wider apertures just don't look really good. Cheap lens I guess. If you are talking about Aperture the program, I don't have a Mac. But I did play around a bit with the blur tool in Photoshop this morning. Definitely a tool I don't want to use with a bunch of things in the foreground at this point. I need more practice with easier photos I think. :)

I like the colored version better. The B&W has, doubtless, more drama, but I'm not sure it is required for this shot. At the same time, I really l really like the color of the water (colored version). May be I would play a bit with aperture to get background blurred, it is a bit distracting for my taste.

Your right, the color version was quite nice but I do believe I like the B&W best. Very nice! PAul

This is a super shot.
I'll have to take a look at this lens.

No, As a matter of fact the color was really nice. I'll post that one in Pending as well. I just love B & W photos. It looked great both ways.

Question, did you convert to black and white due to a color shift of the ND filter? I know some exhibit poor color rendering. Paul

I must also point out that my tripod feet were practically against the water pond. I was shooting super long exposures with my new 77mm ND30 filter. AWESOME filter BTW. I was able to shoot 30 seconds at f/11 without overexposing. I should post one of those in the exhibition section. Pretty cool looking shots.

The thing with this lens is that if you can get lined a certain way with the horizon you don't get the weird rounded look like you'd get with a fish eye lens. Also, I cropped the top and bottom a bit as well. This was also shot using a portrait grip.

Wow! Beautifully seen and captured Phydoux! Love the composition and processing; contrast, sharpness, clouds really pop! I have never used a fish-eye lens. This seems more rectilinear than I would expect, from my limited knowledge of fish eyes. Is that something accomplished in post, or in camera?
